Welcome to Dig Vinyl, Merseyside's destination for music lovers! Come visit us for a dig at our Liverpool city centre shop, tucked away above the hustle & bustle of the city's iconic Bold Street, or find us at our Wirral shop, located just off of West Kirby's buzzing Banks Road.

Since opening in March 2014, we've become a must-visit destination in the North for music enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a casual listener; a local or a tourist, pop in for a dig through our constantly updated browsers - we put fresh stock out daily, so you never know what you may find!

Our friendly team of dedicated diggers are always happy to help you find the perfect tunes. With stacks of notable bangers and an ever-growing selection, we cater to all musical preferences - from killer classics to guilty pleasures, our second-hand records and essential reissues have something for everyone.

We work around the clock to source ultra-rare, in-demand and tough to find tunes, carefully curating selections across specialist genres - from post-punk and kosmische to Japanese city pop, reggae, rare groove and beyond. We source from across the globe (USA, Europe, Japan) to bring our customers vinyl gems across all formats and price points…. from the depths of psychedelic rock to the heights of spiritual jazz; beats that range from funky house to driving techno; and global sounds from all corners of the globe. Dig Vinyl was the inevitable product of decades worth of record dealing, DJing, band managing, record label running, and music making of its founders, Anthony Nyland and Carl Emery. They founded the shop as a local response to the relentless talking down of physical record shops and the corporate commodification of music, and have worked to cultivate a knowledgeable and friendly shop atmosphere centred around their love for Liverpool and the music that it was built on.

And it doesn't stop at the tunes! We've always been heavily involved in the local music scene - managing pop-up shops everywhere from the legendary Albert Dock to the David Bowie World Fan Convention, as well as at festivals around the city (Sound City, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia) and farther afield (We Out Here Festival, London's Independent Label Market). For three years, we helped curate the quarterly CRATE Market at Future Yard in Birkenhead - a record fair and celebration of vinyl culture bringing together dealers, labels and DJs from across the North West. Our team of buyers has over 75 years combined buying experience and speciality knowledge across all genres. We're always interested in buying quality records - we offer fair, competitive prices and instant payment in cash, bank transfer or store credit. We're available most days at our Bold Street shop and throughout the week at West Kirby - get in touch to book in a time that works for you. Home visits are also available across the North West for larger collections.

Beyond buying, our team is filled to the brim with musicians, radio hosts and DJs - spinning at renowned festivals & events such as Eurovision Village, BBC 6Music Festival, Africa Oye, Tate Liverpool, LIMF and more. Over ten years on, Dig Vinyl has seen three expansions and one big move down Bold Street, emerging as a committed independent business in the landscape of the North's music and vinyl culture. November 2023 marked another exciting chapter in our story as we branched out over the water to the Wirral, opening our second permanent shop in the vibrant independent retail scene of West Kirby. Located on Banks Road, just a short walk from the train station and a stone's throw from the beach, we stock the same diverse mix of genres, eras & sounds that our loyal customers have come to expect, including rare finds from America, Japan and beyond!
